Terms of Service and Disclaimers

1. Authorization for Service

By engaging Fixpoint PC Repair, you authorize diagnostic, repair, upgrade, and/or service work to be performed on your device. You confirm that you are the legal owner or have full permission from the owner to authorize this work.

We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason, including but not limited to: abusive conduct, suspected stolen property, or non-compliance with these terms.

2. Diagnostic Fee and Payment Terms

  • A $100 non-refundable Diagnostic & Quick Fix fee is required at drop-off. This covers all diagnostics and repairs under one hour.
  • Additional labor is billed at flat rates disclosed prior to service. You will be notified before any work exceeding the initial scope is performed.
  • All parts ordered through Fixpoint PC Repair must be paid in full prior to procurement.
  • Full payment is due at pickup. No device will be returned until the balance is paid.
  • Devices not retrieved within 30 days of invoice date are considered abandoned and become property of Fixpoint PC Repair.

3. Risk and Data Loss

Repair and diagnostics carry inherent risk, including but not limited to:

  • Data loss or corruption,
  • Hardware failure,
  • Operating system errors,
  • Software incompatibility.

We are not responsible for any data loss. Customers should back up data before service. Service may exacerbate preexisting issues.

4. Customer-Supplied Parts

Customer-supplied parts are installed at your own risk. We do not guarantee:

  • Compatibility,
  • Functionality,
  • Safety,
  • Serviceability,
  • Longevity.

No warranty is provided on work involving customer-supplied parts.

5. Ownership, Legality, and Device Content

You affirm the device is legally yours or that you have authorization. You agree to hold Fixpoint PC Repair harmless from disputes related to ownership or data contents.

Devices must not contain illegal content, including but not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM),
  • Pirated software/media,
  • Malware, spyware, or hacking tools.

Discovery of illegal material will result in immediate surrender to law enforcement. No exceptions.

6. Warranty and Limitations

No guarantees are made regarding successful repair or long-term reliability. We do not warranty:

  • Aging or worn hardware,
  • Repairs using customer-supplied parts,
  • Software performance,
  • Future hardware/software compatibility.

Unless explicitly stated in writing, all work is performed as-is, without warranty.

7. Abandoned Devices

Devices not retrieved within 30 calendar days of invoice issuance will be considered abandoned. Ownership transfers to Fixpoint PC Repair. Devices may be recycled, resold, or disposed of at our sole discretion.

8. Communication and Consent

We may contact you via phone, text, or email for service updates and billing. We are not responsible for delays caused by unresponsiveness. Devices requiring credentials must be fully unlocked for service to proceed.

9. Remote Support Terms

Remote sessions are limited to diagnostics and light troubleshooting. Advice is provided as-is. You accept all responsibility for actions taken based on remote assistance.

10. Device Access and Lockouts

You must provide all required passwords or access credentials. Lack of access may delay or prevent service. We are not responsible for issues caused by encryption or lockouts.

11. Photo Documentation

We may photograph your device before and after service for documentation and liability purposes. These photos may be retained internally.

12. Special Conditions: Battery and Liquid Damage

Devices with known or suspected battery swelling or liquid damage carry elevated risk. You acknowledge that:

  • Repair may cause additional damage,
  • Success is not guaranteed,
  • We are not liable for resulting issues.

13. Repair Outcome Disclaimer

Hidden damage may be discovered mid-repair. In such cases:

  • You will be notified,
  • Additional charges may apply,
  • Work will not proceed without your approval.

14. Limitation of Liability

Fixpoint PC Repair's total liability is limited to the amount paid for services rendered. We are not liable for:

  • Lost data,
  • Lost revenue,
  • Third-party software loss,
  • Consequential damages.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will be resolved via binding arbitration under the laws of South Carolina. You waive the right to a jury trial or class action lawsuit.

16. Updates and Revisions
